Anti-clearing laws cause pain 5 Jun 2007
Farmers say that clearing laws which penalise them to allow Australia to meet greenhouse gas obligations are the reason they are now threatening to cut down trees. While farmers in the US and Europe are paid for conservation work studies have found that farmers in Australia suffer due to native vegetation laws. The Commonwealth Property Protection Association wants to start court action claiming $10.5 billion in damages.
