Retreat changes owners
30 Jul 2007

The Retreat Station in Western Queensland has been sold for $7.8 million by one of Australia's largest landowners and woolgrowers, Hugh MacLachlan, who had owned the station for almost 30 years. The property was bought by Evan Ryan who plans to continue running sheep but also to increase cattle numbers. Elders says that the property has a good reputation for being a producer of big sheep and heavy/medium/fine wool cuts, good lambings and big-frame shorthorn cattle.
