NZ farmers eye Aussie properties
11 Feb 2008

Global shortages and rising milk prices are driving New Zealand dairy farmers to aggressively expand their holdings and could impact the Australian market. Several farmers in the diary producing region of Waikato have purchased nearby properties which they intend to keep operating while drought is making it hardy to meet supply commitments. Agents in Victoria are actively seeking buyers from New Zealand and an agent at Century 21 in Waikato said that he believes that many farmers are being attracted to areas such as Warrnambool, Sale and Shepparton.
