Hobby farms improve value
28 Apr 2008

The average price of hobby farms in NSW lifted by 10 per cent last year but the increases were not uniform. The Department of Lands figures show that the average price of a 40 hectare hobby farm in Armidale more than doubled during 2007 while Tenterfield saw growth of 52 per cent. However values in Bathurst were down 10 per cent and the largest fall was in Goulburn where prices fell 15 per cent. Roger Bushell, an agent for Landmark in Goulburn, said that anything purely recreational was not selling and that a lot of people have cited the cost of fuel as imp-acting on their decisions.
