Proposed trial of GM crop in Qld. 23 Nov 2001
Cotton Seed Distributors has become the first body to seek permission to trial a genetically modified crop in Queensland under new laws introduced earlier this year. The proposed trials will involve plantings of up to 480 hectares of insect resistant cotton over a two year period.
Office of the Gene Technology Regulator has now invited public comment on the draft risk management plan in particular involving any possible risks to health and safety.
