CSIRO push for funding boost
22 Mar 2004

CSIRO is pushing for a significant increase in funding in this year's federal budget so it can press ahead with its key national research priorities. The CSIRO currently gets $640 million a year and wants extra funding to meet its flagship programs. These are food futures, water for a healthy country, wealth from Australia's oceans and energy transformed, preventative health and light metals.

CSIRO's deputy CEO Ron Sandland said these flagship programs represent Australia's biggest challenges over the next 10 years.

Australian Financial Review, 22/3/04.
