Barry's shout a lifesaver

Barry Harris, a 70-year-old inventor from Melbourne's Dandenong Ranges, shouts at his tractor. Not out of anger, though, but to demonstrate his voice-activated engine-kill switch.
When there's an emergency such as a roll-over, Barry shouts "help" and this is picked up by a receiver on his ear muffs. The tractor engine switches off almost immediately, 60 seconds later a siren starts - so loud it can be heard up to a kilometre away.
Barry, who has entered his invention into the WorkSafe awards, says he has first-hand experience of tractor accidents. Two of his friends were killed in tractor accidents and he's had two roll-overs himself.
