GM Canola trials no secret
8 Oct 2004

A farmer near Horsham identified himself as a grower involved in a trial of Bayer CropScience genetically modified canola. Greg Petrass said that as far as he was concerned, the trial had hardly been secret. He’s grown GM canola on his farm for five years. There are four Bayer GM canola trial sites in Victoria, though neither Bayer not the state government will say where they are. Bayer says the sites are "no secret", with a regular program of inspections by outsiders, including 60 agronomists this year. Petrass has Bayer signs on his property.
