Farmers fight Telstra sale

The National Farmers' Federation said it was still too early for the government to sell its remaining stake in Telstra, as the telco had not done enough to protect rural services. The NFF said only around half of the recommendations of an inquiry into regional telecommunications services had so far been implemented. The NFF said services had improved but was non-committal about the chances of completing the sale in 2006, as the federal government hopes.
