Telstra connection standards slip in the bush
17 Dec 2004

Telstra’s customer service levels in rural regions slipped over the September quarter, according to a report by the Australian Communications Authority. The report said that while Telstra’s ability to meet customer service guarantees for connecting services had improved marginally overall, in major rural areas remote from infrastructure it had steadily declined over the year to September and fell further over the quarter. In rural areas, the percentage of new services connected within target timeframes dropped from 93 per cent to 89 per cent. Telstra met timeframes for fault repair in 93 per cent of cases, an improvement of five per cent over the March quarter.
