Biotech firm trials salt tolerant wheat

Grain Biotech Australia will undertake the first field trial of genetically modified and salt tolerant wheat at Corrigin next month. The trial will compare the performance of Carnamah and Westonia wheats, which have salt -tolerant gene, with non-GM counterparts, over an increasing salt gradient.
