GM canola found in WA
9 Aug 2005

The Western Australian Government yesterday confirmed trace elements of genetically modified organisms were found in preliminary tests of a consignment of canola. The consignment is undergoing further tests to confirm the presence of GM material and to establish whether it is the same Bayer Cropscience strain of GM found in Victoria in July. Like Victoria, Western Australia bans the cultivation of GM crops for commercial use.
