Traces of GM canola emerge eight years after trials
1 Sep 2005

Trace levels of genetically modified material have been found in samples of South Australian canola from ABB Grain. Randomly selected samples tested positively for Topaz 19/2 - a variety not trialled since 1997 - but at very low levels and below the internationally agreed 0.01pc standard. The source of the contamination is not yet known.
