GM canola growing beyond trial sites
14 Sep 2005

Two canola trial sites in Western Australia have been contaminated with genetically-modified plants. GM canola had been found growing among non-GM canola at two sites at Lake Grace and Cranbrook. The GM level detected was 0.04 per cent. The trials are being conducted by the Federal Government's Grains Research Development Corporation, which is doing another 33 similar trials in four other states. All are contaminated with Monsanto's Victory GM canola seed stock.
