More GM strains detected in canola crops
23 Sep 2005

The Victorian Government's agriculture research arm, AgVic, detected Monsanto's Round-up-Ready herbicide resistance gene in two of its five Victory cultivars of canola. The Victory cultivars are being grown on 35 farms in Victoria, NSW, South Australia and Western Australia as part of the trials in preparation for commercial release of genetically modified canola next year. Traces of GM strains have been found in dozens of canola shipments in several states in recent months.
