Government wants wireless in the bush
18 Nov 2005

Wireless telecommunications projects in the bush will be favoured under the federal government’s $1.1 billion Connect Australia fund, the money set aside for regional areas to encourage the passage of the Telstra sale legislation. Up to half of the funding will be spent building new regional telecommunications infrastructure projects, with the bulk of the package aimed at bringing high speed internet to remote areas.
