Public pay phones to go

Telstra plans to remove 5,000 unprofitable pay phones from country areas and minimise consultation with stakeholders over the move. Phones with average usage between $1500 and $4000 per year will be targeted by the rationalisation. Telstra is aiming to freeze costs at $11 billion a year.
