Two public phones per town says Joyce
7 Mar 2006

Telstra will be forced to review its local-presence plan submitted last October and maintain many unprofitable rural services under a plan to be released by Communications Minister Helen Coonan in the next few days. Queensland Nationals Senator Barnaby Joyce is pushing for a minimum commitment of two public pay phones per town. Telstra wants National Party support in Cabinet to overturn an ACCC ruling on line access pricing.
