CDMA network will be shut quickly
23 May 2006

Telstra said it would maintain the CDMA telephone network used in regional Australia for only six months alongside the planned third generation system the company says will be operational in 2008. Telstra said it would aim for equivalent coverage through the 3G network. Telstra will also aim to stretch the signals from each base station to 200 kilometres, up from 70km now.
