Futuris markets broadband to the bush 1 Sep 2006
Optus and Futuris subsidiary Elders established Broadband Connect which they plan to use to build infrastructure to deliver broadband, voice and data services to regional and rural Australia. Elders will retail Optus services including dial-up, broadband and satellite internet, long distance and mobile. Futuris said a trial with Telstra Countrywide had not progressed to a full scale wholesale arrangement but had demonstrated the viability of Elders reselling telecommunications services.
