GM crops back on the table

The Victorian Agriculture Minister, Joe Helper, has insisted that the future of the moratorium on genetically modified crops in that state was not decided. The community and industry groups would be consulted before the current moratorium expires in 2008. Simon Ramsey, president of the Victorian Farmers Federation, said that Australia's major trading partners now accepted genetically modified foods as part of the market.
