Second desalination plant for WA
16 May 2007

Australia’s first desalination plant was opened only six months ago in West Australia and already the state government has announced plans for a second plant. The energy required for the plants is from renewable sources such as wind power. When both plants are running in 2011 they will supply up to 145 gigalitres of water each year which is about one third of the water requirements of the state.
