Slow acceptance for new phone
12 Jun 2007

With Telstra planning to shut down its CDMA network by January 2008 it is trying to get more rural mobile users to take up the LG550 handset with improved reception capabilities. The new phone is on the Next G network which gives access to functions such as pay TV and music downloads but only 100,000 of a potential 1 million customers have so far signed up.
