WA contemplates cloud seeding
31 Jul 2007

A report from the National Climate Centre which was commissioned by Western Australia's Water Corporation has recommended a five year trial of cloud seeding to increase rainfall in the Moore River / Bunbury / Darling Range area. WA Farmers' Federation has supported the proposal saying that the trials must go ahead because the effects on agriculture could be enormous. However the Water Corporation said that the technology would only be viable if it could deliver an additional 30 to 40 gigalitres of stream flow into dams. Further analysis of the report will be conducted by Water Corporation before any trial commences.
