Finding the right smell

Research is underway into a new device that will measure aroma and flavour in wine which will help growers to pick grapes at optimum ripeness. The work by Australian scientists is part of a worldwide project to find an objective way of quantifying odours. CSIRO's Dr Stephen Trowell said "While the human nose is a wonderful thing, it has its limitations".
