Bush broadband contract signed
10 Sep 2007

The contract has been signed for the Opel consortium to deliver broadband to the bush. The project to implement wireless broadband for rural and regional areas will cost $958 million and is due to be completed by June 2009. The government will conduct independent testing of the network to ensure that coverage is of a high standard and that the service is comparable to the standard delivered in metropolitan Australia.
