GM opponents cop spray
30 Nov 2007

A group of Victorian MP's who are opposed to the introduction of genetically modified crops have been attacked by the dean of the Melbourne University's land and resources faculty, Professor Richard Roush. Dr Roush said that the advice that the rebel MP's were basing their opposition on, by author Jeffrey Smith, has been proven to be false. Mr Smith has argued that GM crops are known to have caused 65 health problems and MP Tammy Lobato has described GM crops as the "new asbestos".
