Telstra offers carrot to CDMA customers
4 Jan 2008

In an effort to get the last of its CDMA network customers to switch to its new NextG network, Telstra has introduced a $50 cash back offer. People will qualify for the offer if they purchase a pre-paid Samsung mobile phone that is recommended for use in regional areas before January 28. This is the date that the old network is due to close and Telstra says that it is on track to switch everyone over but would not specify how many people are still using it. While many people may have upgraded their phones over the Christmas period Telstra said in November that there were "several hundred thousand customers" still on the old network.
