Rural broadband still has a way to go
6 Feb 2008

The project to build a rural broadband network may be further delayed by Telstra appealing against a federal court decision not to release documents about the selection of the Opel consortium as the successful bidder for the project. However chief executive at Optus which leads the consortium, Paul O'Sullivan, said that he was not concerned by the move and that he was confident that the project would receive final approval from the Communications Department. Final plans were submitted to the department last month but Opel does not expect a final decision until the end of April.
