GM crops the answer to world hunger
5 Jun 2008

Eminent scientist Gustav Nossal says that genetically modified crops are key to feeding the world's poor but it may take two decades to convince the public of its benefits. Professor Nossal said that more research should be put into GM crops as they have a major role to play in improving third-world health. He said that the use of arable land to grow crops for production of biofuels was energy intensive and "stupid", but supported the use of waste products.
