Winemaker Rick pick of the crop

Rick Kinzbrunner has just been named the 2003 Winemaker of the Year. The accolade was awarded by Gourmet Traveller Wine magazine for his Giaconda Chardonnay.
Mr Kinzbrunner beat seven other finalists to take out the prize. The former engineer has a winery in an area better known for bushrangers than grapes. He runs his winery at Beechworth in northern Victoria.
