Wine exports slump
12 Jan 2004

Australian wine exports declined 27 per cent in November 2003, from $213.1 million to $155.2 million. The largest fall was in exports to Europe, which plunged six million litres to $65 million, and to North America, down four million litres to $61.9 million.

The growing strength of the $AUD is an issue for the wine industry: in the 12 months to November 2003 wine volume exports were up 17.7 per cent to 534.9 million litres, but the value was up only five per cent to $2.4 billion.

The Courier-Mail, 10/1/04, page 66.
