WA wine grape glut 'will pass'
27 Apr 2004

Rich Hanen, MD of one of WA's largest wine producers Goundrey Wines, says the state's wine grape glut will be resolved "way faster than people think it will". Mr Hanen said there is high demand for WA wines domestically and internationally WA's presence is going to grow. He hosed down concerns in the industry, saying WA has a unique point of difference and that high quality wines always sell, even in bad times.

Goundrey Wines is best known for its unwooded chardonnay, the fourth top seller in Australia for white wine. The winemaker is about to launch an upmarket brand both domestically and in the US called Offspring. It will targeted at a younger market than Goundrey's main Homestead line.

The West Australian, 27/4/04.
