Agricultural recovery consolidates
21 Sep 2004

Farm production will stabilise in 2004/05, the government’s commodity forecaster ABARE concludes in its latest quarterly forecast. ABARA said the index of farm production would remain largely unchanged in 2005 after an increase of 18 per cent in 2004. ABARA forecast that the value of wheat, canola, sugar, wine and dairy exports would rise, but that the value of livestock exports would fall. The value of forestry and fishery products would remain roughly stable this financial year.
