Warm conditions prime wine crush
6 May 2005

Wine producer Hardy Wine reported what it says is the largest grape crush in Australian history. Hardy said it had taken in 363,550 tonnes of grapes for the 2005 vintage, up 10 per cent on last year. Hardy said the intake represented about 20 per cent of the total Australian wine vintage. Hardy said favourable seasonal conditions contributed to the higher than expected yields in the warmer inland regions of Riverland and Sunraysia.
