Drought relief rules eased
13 Oct 2006

Farm communities will be able to receive government drought assistance continuously for up to 18 months rather than having to reapply as often as every five months. The maximum period at present is 12 months, but this will be increased to between 15 and 18 months under plans being considered by federal cabinet.
