Wheat forecast drops 16 Jun 2008
Dry conditions in central and southern New South Wales and in Western Australia during May have led Australian Crop forecasters to cut the harvest to 25.5 million tonnes, down 2.6 per cent. Early June rain meant the crop was "not as yet in an irreversible position," the private agricultural forecasting service said. Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ABARE), will issue its latest forecast on June 17.
