Dry September kills hopes for winter grain crop
24 Sep 2008

Heavy rains are expected in south east Australia in the second half of October said the Bureau of Meteorology. An extremely dry September has dashed hopes for a record grain crop said the Victorian Farmers Federation. The winter grain harvest needs several rainfalls of 25mm soon to survive said the VFF. Many northern Victorian grain growers had already made the decision to cut their crops early for hay said the VFF.
