Hay buyers hoping for greener pastures
27 Mar 2009

Twenty five to fifty centimetres of rain has improved pastures south of the Great Dividing Range in Victoria and into South Australia''s lower southeast. Bigger falls have been recorded in northern Tasmania, between Burnie and Launceston. Dry conditions are continuing in the grazing and cropping regions from Horsham to Ouyen and across to Deniliquin and Shepparton. Hay buyers are waiting to see if new pasture growth will impact on the market for Hay which eased this week to $260 - $290/tonne in the Murray Valley as demand and supply are both depressed.
