Growers start inquiry into selling wool better
15 Jun 2004

Growers have started their own investigation into ways to lift demand for wool. WoolProducers has asked for submissions and comments on proposals from research and promotional companies on better ways to sell wool.

Australian Wool Innovation and the Woolmark Company have both put forward initiatives to boost demand, but WoolProducers president Robert Pietsch said it's time for growers to have their say on the plans. He said growers are tired of the top-down approach and that's why WoolProducers has instigated a process to ensure growers tell their industry organisations and government what they want, not the other way around. WoolProducers plans to develop ideas raised by growers, holding a series of marketing meetings across Australia.
