CSIRO's winds of change 24 Jun 2004
A CSIRO research team has developed a vaccine that cuts methane emission in sheep by 8 per cent. But to be commercially viable and help achieve a drop in global warming, the vaccine will have to be improved to cut emissions by 20 per cent.
A CSIRO spokesman said this week that the research team is about to publish its findings on the anti-burping anti-flatulence vaccine tests. The tests were carried out in Rockhampton on sheep injected with the experimental formula.
