Many Woolmarks on Finnie’s agenda
5 Oct 2004

Eric Finnie, general manager of The Woolmark Company said the Woolmark was in danger of becoming outdated and desperately needed to be revamped in a different form. Finnie said it was time to change the design of the Woolmark to broaden its appeal to a wider commercial audience. "At the moment all the Woolmark signifies is that a particular product is made of wool. It is a brand used in carpets all the way to the very best fine apparel and tells the customer nothing about the quality of wool being used.” Now that Woolmark is fully owned by Australian growers, Finnie wants it "Australianised." Finnie would also like to see an "Australian Merino" brand also established.
