Another retailer joints wool boycott
21 Jan 2005

Georges, a British clothing chain ultimately owned by the US chain Wal-Mart will join the boycott of wool products sourced from farms that practice mulesing. The retailer’s decision is a win for the campaign by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. But Italian retailer Benetton changed its mind about supporting the PETA campaign, after lobbying by Australian wool growers and the government.
