Benetton seeks wool from un-mulesed sheep
24 Jan 2005

Italian fashion brand Benetton has changed its mind for a second time in a week, and again demands that Australian wool suppliers only provide it with wool from un-mulesed sheep. Benetton issued a letter by fax and email to its buyers, saying it had agreed to favour wool purchases from producers who did not practise mulesing. The clothing group said it made the decision "autonomously" and was refusing to cooperate with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, the US-based animal rights group.
