Farmers Face Price Squeeze
11 Jan 2006

WA farmers are facing tough times in 2006 say farm advisors who are highlighting the worst cost-price squeeze for more than a decade. Low grain and wool prices as well as rising fertiliser, fuel and labour costs are lifting the exit rate among WA broadacre farmers to 1.5 per cent per year. One consultant called it the worst farm price squeeze since the early 1990’s.
