Dry times for wool
11 Jul 2006

Wool production is expected to fall this year by 0.7 per cent to 465,000 tonnes as farmers struggle to rebuild flocks amid continuing drought, especially in NSW. The benchmark Eastern Market Indicator rose 0.3 per cent to $7.49 a kilogram last Thursday and prices are up 18 per cent this year. WA production is expected to fall 7 per cent to 111,000 tonnes.
