Steady growth in sheep meat prices
5 Sep 2006

Meat & Livestock Australia said lamb and sheep prices were expected to remain relatively strong over the next few years. This year, lamb production is forecast to rise three per cent to a record 388,000 tonnes. MLA forecasts a further four per cent rise is predicted for next year. However, growth over the medium term is likely to be hampered by the legacy of five years of drought and falling wool prices.
