Vote opens on wool levy 14 Sep 2006
The three yearly ballot of wool growers over the level of the marketing levy they are willing to pay to fund Australian Wool Innovation opens this week. The current levy is two per cent, and growers can vote for levies ranging from nil to three per cent. Some growers say the continuing controversy over the mooted merger between AWI and Australian Wool Services is grounds for a lower levy.
