Shearers push for four per cent pay rise
5 Oct 2006

The Shearers and Rural Workers Union is seeking a four per cent pay rise that would take the rate for shearing 100 sheep to $218.31 under the Federal Award. The union said growers would be asked to sign the common law agreements to pay the new rates from October 31. WoolProducers executive director Greg Weller said woolgrowers should disregard the union's claim, which it said was nothing more than a recommendation.
