WA wool growers ready to cash in
29 Jan 2007

Wool growers in Western Australia are getting ready to cash in on the strong market. Auction sales will resume in Fremantle this week after a one week recess and more than 28,000 bales are expected to be put on offer, which is about 10,000 more than a normal two day sale. This week’s national offering is predicted to be 83,884 bales, which will be the biggest of the season. After a fantastic start to 2007, prices continued to climb at sales in Fremantle, Sydney and Melbourne last week, with the western market indicator adding 40¢ to finish at 976¢/kg clean. Peter Morris, a local wool buyer believes that growers will consider selling their wool to take advantage of the good prices.
